JUDGMENT : (Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to correct the mistake in the online Patta for S.No.1149/2 measuring an extent of 1841 Sq.ft in East Madurai Village, Madurai South Taluk by deleting the classification of land as “Government Poromboke” and include the name of the petitioner and his father Paramasivam by considering his representation dated 19.11.2021 within a stipulated period of time to be fixed by this Court.) 1. This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to correct the mistake in the online Patta in S.No.1149/2 measuring an extent of 1841 Sq.ft in East Madurai Village, Madurai South Taluk, by deleting the classification of land as “Government Poromboke” and include the name of the petitioner and his father Paramasivam, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.11.2021 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2. According to the petitioner, he is the absolute owner of the aforesaid land and in the Town Survey Register, a mistake has been rectified and the petitioner is declared as the patta holder. However, according to the petitioner, in the online patta, the mistake has not been rectified and the said land continues to be classified as “Government Poromboke” land. In such circumstances, he has given a representation, dated 19.11.2021 to the respondents to correct the aforesaid mistake. Since the petitioner's representation has not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed. 3. Heard Mr. M. Thirunavukkarasu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. T. Amjad Khan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4. On instructions, learned Government Advocate for the respondents would submit that the subject land is a Government Poromboke land. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation is considered on merits, as the petitioner's claim that the Revenue Divisional Officer has passed an order classifying the subject land as a patta land and not as a Government Poromboke land. 5. After hearing the submissions made by the respective counsels, this Court directs the first and second respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 19.11.2021 seeking to correct the alleged mistake said to have been committed in the online patta in S.No.1149/2 measuring an extent of 1841 Sq.ft in East Madurai Village, Madurai South Taluk, by deleting the classification of land as “Government Poromboke” and include the name of the petitioner and his father Paramasivam in the patta, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
