ORDER : 1. Party/Parties is/are represented in the order of their name/names as printed above in the cause title. 2. As recorded by the previous order of this Court dated 12th April, 2022, it is reiterated that this Court is in seisin of several matters connected to appointments under the School Service Commission (SSC) to posts of Assistant Teachers, for Classes IX and X, Group-C and Group-D. 3. The attention of this Court is drawn to Orders dated 6th December, 2021 and 24th February, 2022 passed by the concurrent Hon'ble Division Bench. 4. By the said Orders, the Hon'ble Division Bench was pleased to appoint a retired Judge of this Court, Mr. Justice R. K. Bag (Retd.) as Chairperson to monitor the entire process of enquiry into appointments to the posts, as stated above under the SSC, with the assistance of a special team of Committee Members, also named by the Orders dated 6th December, 2021 and 24th February, 2022 {supra). 5. The attention of this Court is further drawn to the Report of the Bag Committee (as referred to for short) submitted in connection with Group-D appointments. 6. The Report connected to Group-D appointments is made part of the records. 7. The attention of this Court is also drawn to the communication by the Chairperson of the Committee, Justice R.K. Bag (Retd.), addressed to the Learned Registrar General, High Court at Calcutta and dated the 11th of April, 2022 seeking recusal from the enquiry connected to appointments to Group-C posts under the SSC. 8. Noticed the contents of the letter dated 11th of April, 2022. 9. However, in the larger interests of the ultimate adjudication of the issues presented, the offer to resign by the Chairperson is respectfully not accepted. 10. The Chairperson is requested to continue with the Committee as already appointed by the Orders dated 6th December, 2021 and 24th February, 2022 (supra) and complete the enquiry into appointments to Group-C posts. 11. The constitution of the Committee and its terms shall remain unchanged qua the directions vide Orders dated 6th December, 2021 and 24th February, 2022 (supra) except, that the Chairperson shall be entitled to fix his own remuneration. 12. The Committee shall file its Report within a period of four weeks from this date before this Court. 13.

Since the Committee has been now requested to complete the enquiry into the Group-C appointments and submit its Report within four weeks, the Order of stay as granted by this Court on the 12 th of April, 2022 shall continue for a period of five weeks from this date. 14.
