ORDER 1. The hearing was conducted through video conferencing. 2. Mr. Dhirender Kumar Singh, DCP (Legal) Delhi Police is connected through video conferencing. He submits that one of the issues noticed by the Court with regard to overheating of the motorcycle was concerned, the same has been resolved and general view of the riders is that the issue is not such that may hamper their riding or patrolling. Accordingly, said issue is closed. 3. With regard to the suggestion of the Court of installing GPS devices in licensed weapons, He submits that the same was examined by a Committee appointed by the Commissioner of Police and the Committee is of the view that keeping in view the technical, financial and privacy concerns, same may not be a feasible option. 4. Status report stated to have been filed is not filed. Let the counsel to check up with the Registry and have the same placed on record. 5. The Committee appointed by the Police Commissioner referred to above, may also examine the possibility of creation of a Ballistic Database, where ballistic reports of all firearms, in respect of which licences are issued or which are endorsed on the licences issued to public, can be stored so that said database can be accessed in case of an investigation. 6. The Committee may also consult the technical experts of CFSL with regard to the same. 7. List for directions on 08.04.2022 at 3.30 p.m. 8. Fresh status report be filed before the next date of hearing. 9. Copy of the order be uploaded on the High Court website and be also forwarded to learned counsels through email by the Court Master.
