ORDER : 1. Mr. S. C. Keyal, learned standing counsel submits on written instructions that the department has taken a decision to release the interest due to the petitioners making it subject outcome of the appeal pending before the Apex Court in SLP No. 016322/2018. Mr. Keyal, learned standing counsel further submits that in view of this communication, the department is also contemplating to not press the demands raised which are being impugned in the present writ petition. 2. Dr. A. Saraf, learned counsel submits let the department initiate payment of interest from the date it became due as per the notification in respect of the petitioner and thereafter the writ petition can be closed. 3. Mr. Keyal, learned standing counsel prays for and is granted 3(three) weeks time to obtain the required instructions on the status of the compliance of the communication as per the instructions presented before the Court. 4. Copy of this communication received by Mr. Keyal is kept in case record. List accordingly.
