JUDGMENT Arindam Lodh, J. - Heard Mr. Somik Deb, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. D.J. Saha, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. Samrat Kar Bhowmik, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. Srikanta Paul, learned counsel appearing for the respondents. 2. This is a matter relating to election of Chairman in the Bar Council of Tripura. 3. Without entering into the merit of the writ petition, this Court has made an endeavour to amicably settle the issue in presence of all the advocates and with the active assistance of Mr. S.S. Dey, learned Advocate General of this State as well as the learned counsels appearing for the contestant respondents. 4. The main dispute is between the petitioner and the respondent no.3. Respondent no.3 has submitted his objection to the nomination paper which was proposed to be submitted by the petitioner to the Secretary, Bar Council of Tripura. 5. However, the matter is amicably settled in the following terms: (i) Shri Ratan Datta, the respondent no.3 shall not press his objection letter dated 27.01.2023 to the nomination paper by Shri Bibhal Nandi Majumder, the petitioner herein; and (ii) Election to the post of Chairman will be held on 5th February, 2023 with the nomination already submitted by the candidates as per Rules relevant to election to the post of Chairman. 6. The instant writ petition stands disposed in terms of the above.
