ORDER : 1. This Writ Petition is filed by the father of minor child by name Sri Dhrishit Kanuri. It is submitted at the Bar that there is estrangement between the Writ Petitioner and his wife, who is Respondent No.8. He has apprehended that Respondent No.8 has changed the name of the minor child. It is submitted that the name in the Birth Certificate and Passport is mentioned as Dhrishit Kanuri, whereas Respondent No.8 has changed the name of the Child in the School Records. 2. It is further submitted that the Writ Petitioner, father of Dhrishit Kanuri, has submitted the Representation to the Official Respondents for the change of name, and therefore, he has approached this Court by way of the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the Official Respondents to correct the name of his Son as what is recorded in the Birth Certificate and in the Passport. 3. On hearing Sri Ghanta Rama Rao, Learned Senior Advocate briefed by Sri Ghanta Sridhar, representing Respondent No.8, Sri L.V.S. Nagaraju, Learned Government Pleader appearing for the Official Respondents and after having gone through the contents of the Counter-Affidavit filed by Respondent Nos.4 and 8, it transpires that the apprehension expressed by the Writ Petitioner is rather misplaced inasmuch as the statements in the Counter-Affidavits of Respondent Nos.4 and 8 clearly indicate that the name of the Child has not been changed in the records of the School and the name of the Child in the records of the School appear only as Kanuri Dhrishit. 4. The Para-21 of the Counter-Affidavit filed by the Respondent No.8 also states as under: I submit that, subsequently, the school authorities raised a query regarding the discrepancy in names in the birth certificate and school admission with full name. I submit that the school authorities advised me as per the educational rules, that the name mentioned in the birth certificate only should be mentioned in the school registers. Accordingly correct name of the child as mentioned in the birth certificate that is DhrishitKanuri was mentioned in the school records as advised by them to avoid future complications in the educational career and welfare of the child. I submit that the same name was carried out in further school records i.e., Transfer Certificate and also in Community and Nativity Certificate etc. Thus, there is absolutely no change or variation in the name of the minor child from birth certificate and school records as alleged by the petitioner.” 6. In this view of the matter, no further Orders are required in the present Writ Petition. The Writ Petition stands closed with the observation that the name of the Child as sought for by the Writ Petitioner shall be Dhrishit Kanuri. 7. It is clarified that Dhrishit is the given name by the parents of the Child and Kanuri is the surname. 8. The Writ Petition is closed. No order as to costs. 9.
