Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the the respondents to provide drinking water connection for domestic purpose to the Petitioner’s house bearing Door No.15/C, Ward -2, South Street, T.Sinthalaicherry Panchayat, Thevaram Via, Theni District as per the application of the Petitioner dated 25.1.2017 and acknowledged by the proceedings of the first respondent in Na.Ka.NO.1056/2017/A3, dated 15.6.2017. The Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the the respondents to provide drinking water connection for domestic purpose to the Petitioner’s house bearing Door No.15/C, Ward -2, South Street, T.Sinthalaicherry Panchayat, Thevaram Via, Theni District as per the application of the Petitioner dated 25.1.2017 and acknowledged by the proceedings of the first respondent in Na.Ka.NO.1056/2017/A3, dated 15.6.2017. 2.Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The case of the Petitioner is that the Petitioner is a resident of third respondent Village Panchahat and his property tax assignment Number is 308. The Petitioner has submitted an application on 25.1.2017 seeking for drinking water connection to his house and his application has been accepted by the first respondent on 15.6.2017. However the application of the Petitioner has not been considered so far by the respondents. Hence the Petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition for the relief stated supra. 4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the Petitioner's representation will be disposed of in accordance with law by the third respondent within the time stipulated by this Court. 5.In view of the above said submission, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the representation/application of the Petitioner, dated 25.1.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to all the parties concerned, within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.With the above direction, the writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
