ORDER : Abdul Quddhose, J. PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the impugned order passed by the first respondent in proceedings No.48320/D3/2008 dated 24.12.2014 and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents to grant compassionate appointment to the petitioner on account of the demise of petitioner's father Late Venkatachalam, who was working under the 2nd respondent. The petitioner has challenged the impugned order rejecting his request for compassionate appointment. 2.The petitioner's father died in the year 1997. According to the petitioner, at the time of his father's death, the petitioner was studying fifth standard and he was taken care of by his mother who was also bedridden, suffering from serious illness. However, as seen from the records, the petitioner attained maturity ie., reached the age of 18 years long time back. The impugned order was passed in the year 2014, whereas the petitioner has challenged the same only in the year 2018, by filing the present Writ Petition. Admittedly, the petitioner's mother's request for compassionate appointment was made only after three years from the date of death of her husband who was an employee with the second respondent College. Admittedly, the petitioner also did not pursue the case for compassionate appointment immediately after he attained the age of maturity ie., 18 years of age. 3.It is also an admitted fact that there is a delay on the part of the petitioner to challenge the impugned order as he had filed the Writ Petition only in the year 2018, though the impugned order came to be passed in the year 2014. 4.For the foregoing reasons, there is no merit in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
