JUDGMENT : RAJESH SHANKAR, J. 1. The present writ petition has been filed for issuance of direction upon the concerned respondent to accept rent and to issue rent receipts for the lands appertaining to R.S. Khata No.108, Plot No.19 measuring an area of 1.36 acres concerning petitioner nos.1 and 2, Khata No.110, Plot No.21 measuring an area of 1.36 acres concerning petitioner nos.3 to 6 and Khata No.107, Plot No.18 measuring an area of 1.02 acres concerning petitioner nos.7 to 17 situated at Mouza- Gomiyadih, P.S. Sonahatu, Thana No.59, District-Ranchi which according to them have been recorded in the name of their ancestors. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner nos.1 and 2 are the descendants of the recorded raiyats of Khata No.108, the petitioner nos.3 to 6 are the descendants of recorded raiyats of Khata No.110 and the petitioner nos.7 to 17 are the descendants of recorded raiyats of Khata No.107. It is further submitted that the petitioners have been in possession of their respective lands of the concerned Khatas which have been demarcated by the respondent no.3 by the order of the respondent no.2. Despite the said fact, the respondent no.3 is not accepting the rent for the said lands from the petitioners. Aggrieved with the said situation, the petitioners have made representations before the respondent no.3, however, the same have also not been considered which has compelled them to prefer the present writ petition. 3. Mrs. Shalini Shahdeo, learned A.C. to S.C.(L&C)-I appearing on behalf of the respondents submits that if the petitioners prefer a fresh representation(s) on the present issue before the respondent no.3, appropriate decision in accordance with law will be taken by the said respondent within a time frame. 4. Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and considering the nature of the prayer made by the petitioners in the present writ petition, without entering into the merit of the case, the petitioners are given liberty to prefer a fresh representation(s) on the present issue before the respondent no.3. On receipt of the said representation(s), the respondent no.3 after verifying the relevant records as well as on providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioners/their representative(s) and other concerned person(s), shall take appropriate informed decision in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of filing of the said representation(s). 5.
