Order : Harinath N., J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the respondents. 2. The petitioners have filed the present contempt petitions alleging that the respondents have willfully violated the common order dated 24.05.2025 passed by this Court in W.P.Nos.13928 and 13929 of 2025. It is the specific case of the petitioners that the respondents have violated the orders of this Court and that the undertaking given by the learned Advocate General for the State of Chhattisgarh with regard to the status of the post mortem for the dead bodies and the next formality of handing over the dead bodies to the relatives of the deceased for performing funeral rites. 3. This Court recorded the statements of the learned Advocate General for the State of Chhattisgarh and disposed of the writ petition without going into the merits of the matter with respect to the objections raised by the learned Advocate General for the State of Chhattisgarh and the learned Advocate General for the State of Andhra Pradesh. 4. It is now contended that the respondents have refused to hand over the dead bodies to the petitioners and that the petitioners have addressed an e-mail on 25.05.2025 to the respondents and the contempt notice was also issued to the respondents by an e-mail on 26.05.2025. 5. This Court has to prima facie be satisfied that the respondents have willfully violated the orders of this Court and on the present set of facts and circumstances, the jurisdiction of this Court in issuing a notice of contempt for an incident that occurred within the State of Chhattisgarh and the subsequent events also transpired within the State of Chhattisgarh, this Court cannot entertain the contempt cases. That apart, this Court, while disposing the writ petitions, has categorically left it open for the petitioners to approach the concerned Police Authority and seek custody of the dead bodies of the deceased to the relatives of the deceased. This Court does not find any specific direction to the respondent authorities to hand over the dead bodies. 6. The submissions of the learned Advocate General for the State of Chhattisgarh and the State of Andhra Pradesh cannot be attributed as undertaking of the concerned respondents. 7. In these circumstances, the Contempt Cases are dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
